Prior to pursuing an academic career, Caren Weinberg held senior positions at several multinationals including Digital Equipment Corporation, Aurec and Motorola as well as working with a number of start-ups. She has an extensive international management background, with over 25 years in global computer and telecom industries where she worked in Finance, Strategic Planning, Marketing, Business Development and Alliance Management. In 2010 Caren completed a PhD in the Department of Engineering, Centre for Technology Management at the University of Cambridge. Her research interests include mergers and acquisitions of technology based firms, business strategy and entrepreneurial tendencies as well as innovation. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at Ruppin Academic Center in Israel and an adjunct professor at the University of Bologna where she teaches Entrepreneurship and Technology Management subjects to graduates and undergraduates in both Engineering and Management programs. She continues to collaborate with renowned researchers around the globe on many subjects including intellectual property, Open Innovation and Innovation Eco-systems.
