UNIBO Launch Pad is the accelerator program for innovative projects created by Ph.D. students and young researchers from the University of Bologna. The program aims to support the development of entrepreneurial ideas through training period characterized by strong practical and experiential orientation.

Phase 1: Training

Training on topics related to entrepreneurship: from the business idea to the design of the business model, from the relationship with the stakeholders and the market to the professional pitch of the project (duration: about 10 weeks).

Phase 2: Mentorship and Networking

Creation of opportunities and events to meet and connect with investors and mentors, entrepreneurs, investors and potential collaborators.

Phase 3: Pitch Day

An entire day devoted to the presentation of entrepreneurial pitches to an highly qualified audience composed of representatives from the industry, the venture capital crowd and the academia.

Phase 4: Silicon Valley Training

A full immersion experience in Silicon Valley for the most promising teams (duration: about 3 weeks).

The training phases will take place in the class room and in the field; selected teams will continue this learning experience in Silicon Valley.


Participants will be selected through the examination of their online application and subsequent interview. Candidates who will show strong motivation to start their business will be given priority. Also, during the selection process a special emphasis will be placed on applicants who have at least one partner to start with.
