The University of Bologna is a richful source of skills, competences and know-how. Through its doctoral programmes the Alma Mater fosters technical and scientific knowledge with limited commercial prospects because of the inability to conceive appropriate technology transfer processes. Among these, entrepreneurship has a central role in driving procesess of human and professional development. However, launching a new venture is challenging, especially for those with academic background who lack the skills and competences for entering the market with a new product and dealing with complex institutional settings.
UNIBO Launch Pad is a joint venture between the University of Bologna, the Italian Institute for Entrepreneurship, local companies and foundations aiming to develop a program to support entrepreneurship with a strong focus on practical, technical and experiential tools. The program is conceived for teams of Ph.D. students and young researchers willing to market research projects and innovations. During the program participants will benefit from the guidance of professors, mentors and experts and will interact with entrepreneurs and investors. The most promising teams will have the opportunity to experience a residential journey in Silicon Valley.
UNIBO Launch Pad is the first Italy-based, and one of the first in Europe, accelerator program conceived for doctoral students of all University of Bologna’s Schools and Departments.
